Our Growing Story...

Tony’s Garden Center is our family owned and operated nursery that we have worked on together for the past 24 years in Portland. The founders, Abe and Barbara, have a passion to offer fresh and healthy plants to their neighbors and customers. This desire has been consistent ever since the doors first opened in 1989.

While they worked to expand their business, Abe and Barbara also managed to raise their four children as well.  As the children grew up in the nursery, they were taught how to care for plants and to educate customers on all the plants grown and sold.  To this day, the children still work and help out around the nursery. Now their own children are the ones growing and learning in the garden center.

In 2005, we were blessed with the opportunity to open our second Tony’s Garden Center location in Happy Valley, Oregon.  This location was traditionally where Abe and Barbara grew all their plants. However, today it also functions as our second retail location.
